Critique should be taken here in the positive and the negative senses. A critique of what exactly? In some ways, a critique of certain types of music I have been listening to recently--monolithic musics. The first piece strips away the lithic quality of that category of music in favor of a more filamentous approach. The electronic noise darts around with the speed of movement (and textural sensibility) of a centipede. The second piece attempts to dislodge monolithic musics from certain emotional pigeonholes they tend to fall into.
